Pain Relief

Did you know that 80% of UK adults will suffer from back pain each year? This is in part due to the prevalence of computers and the more sedate lifestyle we all lead. Aside from back pain, there is a host of additional repetitive strain injuries that can occur due to increased computer use or other repetitive jobs or activities. Osteopathy can successfully treat all these problems.

Osteopathy uses a detailed knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics to identify the root of any individual problem, whether this is based on a spinal condition or elsewhere in
the body. It may be that a condition in the foot is causing a compensatory problem in the back; and although the pain is felt in one location the cause (and therefore the solution) to the problem may lie in another area.

Our osteopaths are also trained and qualified in is the use of Dry Needling; a technique developed from Acupuncture. In situations where the response to Structural Osteopathy has been slow Dry Needling can more precisely treat specific areas of the body, making it particularly effective in treating tennis or golfer’s elbow, frozen shoulder, ligament strains, or any arthritic joint.

Work Injuries, particularly those associated with repetitive computer work, are a paticularly current issue.  Upper/Lower back pain accompanied by arm pain or pins and needles is a common complaint.

Muscles fatigue very quickly if they have to sustain a fixed position for a long period of time, which leads to pain and sometimes a burning sensation.

Osteopathy can relieve this pain and 'reset' your body to its prior magnificence.
